Logan’s Bio

Logan James McCarthy was born on 16/09/01 in Reading, England.
Moved to Canberra, ACT Australia at 6 months
Was a happy baby, babbling, loved cuddles
Developed Pneumococcal at the age of 13 months
Diagnosed with Autism the day after his 3 rd Birthday
At the age of Four and a half he has only 4 words
Can not communicate his needs to us and will get frustrated by this
Is not toilet trained
Difficulty with mobility no sense of direction
Sensitive hearing
Trouble dealing with large crowds

Logan’s parents, Lucy and Jason, have been implementing an American programme called Son-Rise which has had some success with certain children. They are implementing this programme based on books and videos that they have read, but would really like to access the course which is not available in Australia hence the need for Logan’s fund. Jason has started part-time work in the evening so he can work with Logan during the day.

At the age of 5 Logan's vocab has increased from 4 to 20 words but only says about 5 without request.

Logan's parent's Lucy & Jason have been implementing an American program called the Son-Rise program which has had some success with certain children. Jason attended the Son-Rise program in August 2006 bringing home new found knowledge & inspiration for Lucy & the volunteers who work with Logan.
